Stop the madness!

There are some things that happen in this world that seem to have no reason. Where demonic strongholds develop and set in over so many years, that it becomes difficult to speak the truth into the situation and begin to see things break. Luckily, we serve a God that is more powerful than any evil force at work throughout history or future.

Jesus said in Matthew 24 that "many will come in My name, claiming 'I am the Christ', and deceiving many". This passage has over time been interpreted that many false messiahs would come claiming to be Christ. However, if we really look at this verse we see that "many will come in My name". How can they come in Jesus' name and be the Messiah? They can't. This verse is saying that many will come in the name of Jesus, saying that he is the Messiah, but with the intent of decieving many.

1 John 2:11 says, "But he who hates his brother is in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes." Please take time to study the information in the above link. It is one of the worst humanitarian situations in the world, right now. The "Lord's Resistance Army", as they are called, are not of the Lord at all, but are definitely resisting Him. So many Ugandans have died at the hands of Joseph Kony that it really becomes overwhelming. You may not feel like there's much you can do to help. Everybody can pray. Pray most of all that the children of Uganda would be safe, that the killing would stop, that the captives would be freed, that families would be made whole again, and that the peace of the Holy Spirit would consume the land. Pray that demonic strongholds that pit kingdom against kingdom would be pulled down. Pray for truth to be revealed. Pray for Joseph Kony to be convicted by the Holy Spirit, repent of his crimes, and pursue peace both in Uganda and within the situation in The Sudan to which he is also tied.

Joseph Kony may or may not have started with good intentions, but pride distorts all things. Pride unchecked and coddled give us Adolph Hitler, Charles Taylor, Osama Bin Laden, and Joseph Kony. But, Jesus said to love our enemies, and to bless those that curse us. Pray for Uganda and her children. Fast for them. They go without on a daily basis, wandering from city to city to escape the LRA. We can afford to go without for a short time for them, as well. We are called to defend the poor, the weak, and the despised. Please join me in stepping up for them. Thank you.
