Yeah, I know. I'm late. Blame technology.

Easter Sunday. The holiest day of the Christian year. Jesus rose from the dead, solidifying our place in the book of life, for those who believe. He rose again and appeared to His disciples for the confirmation, go ahead, and final lessons to build His kingdom. One of the most important directives He gave is in Matthew 28:18-20: "And Jesus told His disciples, 'I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to observe all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.' " That is a big order; one which we feel unable to see to ourselves.

The trouble is that we worry, when we need to not worry at all. We turn our eyes inward, which is in itself a prideful act. We need to keep our eyes on God. He is quick to supply all our needs. We must, however, step out in faith. Isaiah 55:3-9 says, "Come to Me with your ears wide open. Listen, for the life of your soul is at stake. I am ready to make an everlasting covenant with you— I will give you all the mercies and unfailing love that I promised David. He displayed My power by being my witness and a leader among the nations. You will command the nations and they will come running to obey, because I, the LORD your God, the Holy One of Isreal have made you glorious. Seek the LORD while you can find Him. Call on Him now while He is near. Let the people turn from their wicked deeds. Let them banish the very thought of doing wrong! Let them return to the LORD, that He will have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. My thoughts are completely different from yours, says the Lord. And My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. 'For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.' "

Isaiah continues in verses 11 and 12, "It is the same with My Word. I sent it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace." He will give us all the unfailing mercies and love that He gave King David! Just try to grasp that! All the times He saved David's life; how He turned David from the lowliest of the low into a king! Do you feel like a king? Then come to Him with your ears open. Follow Him wherever He might lead. Become a witness and a leader among the nations! He will give you the nations, because it is His will, and His word always bears fruit.

We are not only to preach the gospel of salvation, but the gospel of the kingdom! We are called to make disciples, followers of Jesus. Paul exhorts in Titus 3:8, "These things I have told you are all true. Insist on them so that Christians will be careful to do good deeds all of the time, for this is not only right, but it brings results." Here, Paul is training his disciple Titus, to train disciples. It is also a valuable lesson for us. Don't hold back. Don't give in to fear, only to God. That is how we are best conformed to His image, doing things greater than we ever imagined, through Him. Praise the resurrected Lord! Today is a great day!
